Friends and the development of friendship skills are an anchor in early childhood education. Indicators of bullying, aggression and exclusionary behaviors can surface at an early age, challenging a teacher’s efforts to develop the positive relationships and social behaviors that reinforce a kind, caring classroom community. This training will focus on recognizing, understanding, and addressing bullying behavior in its earliest forms. We will explore strategies for cultivating a positive classroom community that helps children to manage and express their emotions as they acquire the skills to develop healthy, respectful relationships.
