The best picture book illustrators share stories in a way that can both stand alone as visual narrative and complement the written word. When explored in community with others, the work of these book artists provides a “cabinet” of images and experiences that are essential to early literacy development and to children’s own evolving storytelling skills in the classroom art studio and beyond. Participants will discover picture books they will want to introduce in their classrooms, explore strategies for growing students’ visual literacy skills, and gain greater confidence in working with art materials and exploring open-ended creative experiences in their own, right-sized classroom studio spaces.

  • Courses must be taken within the first 120 days after purchase. This includes in-person skills assessment if you have purchased a blended course. After 120 days, courses will expire. No extensions will be given.
