Pablo Picasso famously noted, “Every child is an artist.” Creative experiences in the classroom support that evolving visual storyteller in every child, building confidence in the use of materials and the essential 21st-century skills of investigation, experimentation, and negotiation across the classroom. Found materials, objects in nature, in the home, and in the neighborhood, provide unique opportunities for young artists to see beauty and alternative purpose in items they might otherwise pass by, and help make a reality the collaborative classroom that values sustainability and developmentally-appropriate environmental stewardship. Participants will learn strategies for introducing found materials into classroom spaces in a way that is right-sized to their context, and for sharing engaging Beautiful Stuff-inspired experiences with students and families.
- Courses must be taken within the first 120 days after purchase. This includes in-person skills assessment if you have purchased a blended course. After 120 days, courses will expire. No extensions will be given.
