What is URPD?
The Utah Registry for Professional Development (URPD) is the early childhood registry for professional development in Utah. The URPD provides resources to professional development training opportunities and quality improvement tools in one centralized website in order to support early childhood educators in Utah.
The Utah Registry for Professional Development offers a wide variety of childcare training courses. Courses offered by AIR Child Care Training Solutions are approved by The Utah Office of Child Care to count towards credits on the career ladder.
Utah Childcare Training Tools
While there are many great tools available to childcare professionals, here’s two that we’ve found to be very useful.
The Career Ladder in the Utah Registry for Professional Development promotes professional development with participants and also recognizes experience, training, and educational accomplishments. The URPD provides a number of sources for participants to develop and gain more skills as well as move themselves up in levels on the career ladder.
The Scholarships Tab in the Utah Registry for Professional provides resources for early childhood professional looking for assistance in paying for professional development. Many scholarships are available to childcare providers who work with children at least 15 hours a week in a fully licensed childcare program.
How many training hours are needed annually in Utah?
According to the Child Care Regulations in Utah, staff members must complete twenty (20) hours of annual professional development training.
