This training session starts with an overview of language; literacy skills in young children and what research says about developing early literacy skills and best practices for teaching young children vocabulary, oral language skills, concepts of print, print knowledge, and more. Practical strategies with hands-on activities that support learning language & literacy skills will be presented throughout the session beginning with infant and toddler and then moving on to preschool children. The continuum of language development and literacy learning will look at what skills are closely related to later literacy achievement and how teachers can teach those skills.
- Courses must be taken within the first 120 days after purchase. This includes in-person skills assessment if you have purchased a blended course. After 120 days, courses will expire. No extensions will be given.
